Mad Magazine Parody 1973
Mad Magazine - Vintage March 1973 # 157 - The Planet of the Apes.
In addition to the Apes spoof, I have included a few additional pieces: "You can never win with a bigot" and "Funny and Glare" -- a parody of Sonny and Cher's then famously popular TV show. The back cover image reminds us that MAD was way ahead of the curve when it came to important social issues.

As much as I loved reading the crazy ape adventures on each page, I think it was the ads that really pulled me in. Three things I wanted in 1976: A switchblade comb, to learn karate by mail, and the ability to sell my friends some issues of GRIT!!!
